This coming Sunday is Superbowl XLVI and our favorite team made it this year!  Go NY Giants!  I have been making some fun new gear for our kids to get ready for the big game.

Burp cloth mania - part 2

She must be a really good friend!

I have a really good friend named Autumn who has been a prayer partner of mine for many years now and we have been raising our young kids together. Her youngest son, Judah, turned 1 today. Here is Judah (on the right) with our son, Gabe (on the left) a few months ago.

I really wanted to sew Judah something for this special birthday. It is harder to sew things for boys because cute fabric and good patterns are harder to find for boys. What to do?

Well, Autumn's husband is a big Dallas Cowboy's fan so I decided to make Judah a Cowboy's hoodie. You have to know what a labor of love this was because the Cowboys are my LEAST favorite football team and they actually wound up beating the Giants the day I finished this hoodie. Oh well. I love you, little Judah! Happy Birthday!!

I have added something new to my projects... labels!


I realized that none of the clothes I was making had sizes on them and this might be a problem later on as I forget how old the kids were when I made the outfits. It would also be helpful for people who I give gifts to to know what sizes the clothes are. I am still working out the kinks but labels are really easy. You can get fabric that feeds through your printer so you print on it and it is ready to get sewed onto your project.

• N.Y. Giants for my niece (thanks mom for ordering this!!). I "girly-ized" this romper just a little bit by adding ribbon around the hem. My daughter had fun modeling it!

Football season is here!!!!!!

Well, who says women can't enjoy football season and be cute at the same time? Here is a romper (although it looks like a dress in the first picture) I have made for a sweet little girl in my life named Holland. She and Isabelle are only 2 weeks apart. This romper pattern is fully lined which is wonderful for the cooler months that go along with football season.

This is the first time I have tweaked this pattern for a girl and I think it came out really cute (other than the fact that it is Redskins material, of course!)! The ribbon and ruffles at the bottom were a challenge, but they were fun to figure out. The hardest part was figuring out how to hide the top of the ruffles inside the romper. I can't wait to see if Holland and her mom like it!

Are you wondering what it would look like on a little boy? Well, the ruffles would be gone, of course!! Here is Gabe's NC State romper (please excuse the stains on the neck area... boys sure are messy!!).

Boy's fully lined romper

This was one of the first patterns I tackled because of the name of the website (YouCanMakeThis.com). It sounded easy enough!! And it was easy!! I really like this pattern because the romper is completely lined instead of just having a trunk-lining. Because of the complete lining, it is a really sturdy pattern and it keeps my son warmer than most rompers do which is great since he is usually prone to being cold.

These are the first two matching outfits I made for Isabelle and Gabe. I have gotten so much better in my technique since then but they hold a special place in my heart.

The second time I made this outfit was as a NC State outfit. This picture of Gabe is not the best one I have in this outfit but I am working on taking a better one. This outfit is what I recommend to people to have made during the winter months since it is fully lined.


The third time I made this outfit, it was part of a matching set for Isabelle, Gabe and their cousins at a family reunion. They all looked so adorable in the same fabric but in different patterns! What do you think?

It has been fun to learn on this pattern and get better and better each time I make it. I have not made it with snaps yet but plan on doing that soon!

I recently made this pattern for a little girl whose mom loves the Washington Redskins. I think it is so cute! Have a look and let me know what you think!

Boy's Romper (Easy McCall's 2033)

I have made this outfit (the little boy's jumper) a few times. I have gotten much better at matching the pattern at the center seam since making this Steelers romper, but I think it looks cute even though it is a little mismatched. My friend's husband is a huge Steelers fan and he loved it!!

I have made it with and without pockets and have made it in a short- and long-legged version. Here is my nephew in this outfit.

Here is a great picture of how you can put different kids in the same fabric but in different patterns. This was the first time I made matching outfits for my kids and their cousins! My nephew Elliott (on the far left) is wearing this romper pattern in the nautical print. Gabe is wearing a fully-lined romper and the girls are wearing gathered tops that can be made as dresses.
